London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow airport is situated within London, in zone 6, at the end of the Piccadilly Line underground (subway/metro).

Heathrow Express Train

The quickest transfer between Heathrow and Central London is by Heathrow Express (HEX). They run between Heathrow Airport Terminals 2, 3 and 5 and London Paddington. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

Heathrow Express tickets are available at National Rail ticket offices, London Paddington Heathrow Express ticket machines or online at Heathrow Express. Ticket prices begin from £5.50 if bought at least 90 days in advance or £22 – £25 if bought on the day of travel.

TFL Rail Train

Tfl Rail trains are a bit slower but cheaper option then Heathrow Express. It runs between Heathrow Airport Terminals 2, 3 and 5 and London Paddington. The journey time is approximately 30 minutes. TFL Rail timetable.

You can pay by Oyster, contactless cards, mobile payment apps or get a paper ticket at National Rail or Tfl Rail ticket machines or offices. Prices are around between £10.40 and £11.10.

Underground Tube (metro / subway)

Piccadilly Line runs between Heathrow airport and Central/North London. The journey takes about 40 minutes to/from Central London. Trains run every 10 minutes. A single journey costs between £3.30£6.00. You can pay by Oyster, contactless cards, mobile payment apps or get a paper ticket at any underground ticket machines, Visitor Centres, Oyster ticket stops or Tfl Rail ticket offices.

London Buses

N9 night bus service runs between Heathrow airport and Trafalgar Square from 11:30pm to 5am. This direct bus service only runs at night. It takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. Timetable: Heathrow- Aldwych.

Buses accept oyster card, contactless payment card or smartphone payment app or get a paper Bus and Tram pass or any zone travelcard at any underground ticket machines, Visitor Centres or Oyster ticket stops. A single bus journey is £1.50 on oyster or contactless payment. A one day Bus and Tram pass costs £5.20. There is no single paper bus ticket. You can’t buy a ticket from the bus driver.

If you have a day travel card or season ticket for any zones, then you may use it on night buses if you begin your trip before 4:29 am on the following morning of the ticket’s expiration date.

Coach (long distance bus)

The journey time is around 1 hour from Victoria Coach station. Ticket prices start from £10. It runs 24 hours. Tickets are available online on National Express website or in person from the driver or crew member.

London City Airport

The airport is situated within London in zone 3, on the Docklands Light Railway – DLR line. It runs every 8 to 15 minutes, with travel times of 17 minutes to central London.

You can use your pay as you go Oyster card or contactless bank card / mobile payments to pay for your journey or get a paper ticket at any underground/DLR ticket machines, Visitor Centres or Oyster ticket stops. London Luton Airport

The airport is located approximately 35 miles (55 kilometres) north of London near the town of Luton.

Train

From Luton Airport Parkway station to London, the journey time is approximately 45 minutes. There is a shuttle bus service between the train station and the airport. It runs every 10 minutes and the journey time is 6 minutes. The shuttle bus fare is around £2.

Stansted Airport

The airport it located approximately 40 miles (65km) north-east of London near to the town of Stansted Mountfitchet.

Train

The train station at Stansted is beneath the airport terminal. Stansted Express train runs to and from London Liverpool street station. They depart every 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately 47 minutes. Ticket prices start around £15. Coach (Long distance bus)

London Gatwick Airport

The airport is located approximately 30 miles (45km) south of London near the town of Crawley.

Train

Gatwick Express runs between Gatwick and London Victoria. It departs every 15 minutes. The trip takes about 30 minutes (35 on Sundays). Ticket prices start from around £18.

National rail services (not express) operate between Gatwick and London bridge/ Victoria/ Blackfriars. Journey time 45 -50 minutes. Ticket prices start from £15.

The train station is just outside of the terminal. You can get a train to and from London Liverpool Street in around 53 minutes and to/from Stratford in 44 minutes. Ticket prices begin around £17.
